"This captivating paranormal is a curious mix of alternative history, with steampunk overtures, that will appeal to readers who don't mind a bit of genre blending...Entwistle's tale may attract historical devotees who enjoy famous authors moonlighting as sleuths, such as in Nicola Upson's Josephine Tey books." -Library Journal

TJ Turner rewrites history in Lincoln's Bodyguard
History buff TJ Turner re-imagines history in Lincoln's Bodyguard, which explores an alternate version of the Civil War--one in which Lincoln is saved from assassination by his brave bodyguard, Joseph Foster. However, Lincoln's salvation prolongs the war, and Joseph finds himself the target of a sinister plan involving the kidnapping of his daughter. The fate of his daughter--and the nation--now rest in Joseph's hands.
He has already received rave reviews for this debut novel:
"This novel provides a new take on a fascinating question: what would America have been like if Lincoln had lived? T.J. Turner provides an intriguing answer—one that reaffirms something I firmly believe—history matters. This is a delightful romp through an alternate history with an ending that catches you by surprise. It's a fully immersive world that sweeps you in and never lets you go." -Steve Berry, New York Times bestselling author of The Patriot Threat
"T.J. Turner's Lincoln's Bodyguard is a rip-snorting thrill ride through an alternate history. Turner makes the 1870's come alive with intricate detail, jarring action, and whiplashing plot twists. A fun read!" -Matt Coyle, author of Yesterday's Echoes and Night Tremors

Donlay and Entwistle are finalists for Nancy Pearl Award
We are proud to announce that two of our authors are finalists for the prestigious Nancy Pearl Book Award! The awards ceremony takes places during the Pacific Northwest Writers Association's (PNWA) summer conference from July 16-19.
Phil Donlay's Deadly Echoes is the fourth installment in the Donovan Nash series and is sure to please suspense-hungry readers. Donlay has gained a strong following since his first novel was published in 2009.
Vaughn Entwistle's The Revenant of Thraxton Hall has also made it to the finals. This mystery-thriller hybrid is reminiscent of Sherlock Holmes, but much more daring and sinister.
We wish them both the best of luck at the Nancy Pearl Awards!

Whitney Bell Interviews Literary Agent Elizabeth Kracht
Whitney Bell put together an interview with me for The Antioch Voice, the literary journal for Antioch University Midwest.
In the interview Whitney asks questions, such as:
1) What's a typical day like for you?
2) What's your favorite thing about being an agent? And least favorite thing?
3) How many manuscripts do you read per year?
4) What's the biggest lesson you've had to learn from your work?
...and many more!
It's a fun interview--the kind I much prefer to do these days. We also get to the Kracht signature cocktail, the Blue Grasshopper:
Equal parts: Creme de menthe, Liquor 43, Coconut Milk
Splash of Blue Curacao
Shake over ice and strain into martini glass
Garnish with a slice of dark chocolate
Drink with a good book
I'm looking forward to meeting Whitney Bell at the Antioch Writer's Workshop in Ohio in July to test out my new signature cocktail. For information on the conference, click here.

We Need Reviewers!
We need reviewers for my author M.E. Parker's Science Fiction novel JONESBRIDGE: ECHOES OF HINTERLAND (Diversion Books, July 7).
If you are willing to review M.E.'s book and provide a review on Amazon and Goodreads and/or your blog, please contact Chris Mahon at chris@diversionbooks.com. Chris can provide you with a hard copy or ebook.
Reviews are so important for the success of a book, so we very much appreciate your willingness to read and review JONESBRIDGE. Serious reviewers only please!
JONESBRIDGE falls at the intersection between Fahrenheit 451 and The Road. It is a story about loss of information and the onset of dystopia with elements of steampunk/enviropunk. In a landscape where the world's knowledge has fallen into ruin through disaster and war, a fractured society has rebuilt from known industrial-revolution-era technology, a stymied culture mired in constant conflict for remaining resources. JONESBRIDGE follows young characters Myron and Sindra as they dream of and try to implement an escape plan that could cost them everything.
Though JONESBRIDGE is considered an adult book, Myron and Sindra would appeal to YA readers who lean toward edgier YA.
A little history: JONESBRIDGE (formerly titled "Hinterland"--this title got snapped up during the shopping process) was a manuscript I read as an intern and sought out later as an agent because I couldn't get Myron's character out of my mind.
