ZERO SEPARATION Reviewed on BookLoons.com

Phil Donlay's ZERO SEPARATION was reviewed by Mary Ann Smyth on BookLoons.com.

"Suspense builds with every page and just when the reader is sure it can't get any more exciting – it does! Anthrax, countless dead bodies, intrigue, espionage, a hint of terrorists, an angry wife, a plot to die for; and great characters carry the story."

STALKING SAPPHIRE Available On iTunes

My client Mia Thompson's book STALKING SAPPHIRE is now available for preorder on iTunes.

Sapphire Dubois is a reluctant, 20-year-old heiress living in Beverly Hills. By day she keeps up appearances, but by night she's a vigilante, who has made it her mission to stalk and trap serial killers and turn them over to the police. The police have nicknamed her the "Serial Catcher" and are trying to apprehend her. She meets her real match, however, in a serial killer named Raphael, who begins to stalk her.  He believes serial killers help cleanse humanity and he wants to punish her for disrupting the natural order of things. When Raphael begins to taunt and stalk her, the police officer hunting the Serial Catcher (the one she's just had a one-night stand with) is assigned to protect her, confounding matters. Sapphire soon finds herself in a race against the clock to save an innocent victim of Raphael's, realizing too late she's just walked into a trap set to capture her.

San Francisco's 10th Anniversary Writer's Conference

Dear Readers,

Our agency will be attending the conference at the Mark Hopkins Hotel in San Francisco this weekend.  We look forward to meeting you and hearing of your writing endeavors.  Two of our new agents, Amy Cloughley and Pooja Menon will be "shadowing"Liz and I as we speak on panels, and speed date with you on Sunday!  We are having an incredibly busy and successful year already, and we will also be attending the Book Expo in NYC in May, as well as making the editorial rounds.  I have officially now become a "mentor" as I remember the words of my beloved past partner Dorris Halsey.  "Let's be realistic and do the impossible..."  Dreams are meant to be fulfilled, and it is our hope that we can touch the lives of writers and make a difference.

Warmly,

Kimberley

HIDING GLADYS Reviewed on MyShelf.com

HIDING GLADYS, the first in the series of Cleo Cooper mysteries, was reviewed on MyShelf.com.

"This was a fast read with quirky characters who held my attention. It was exhilarating to be out in the open with Cleo. I felt like I was with her making her grid and fighting bad guys. Having a dog named Tulip didn’t hurt either. The plot will keep you guessing," says reviewer Cheryl Green.

Interview With Elizabeth Kracht

Literary Agent Elizabeth Kracht

I had an opportunity to answer a few interview questions for Amy Trueblood, the author of a blog titled "Chasing the Crazies." I really enjoy doing interviews like this because I know how difficult it is for writers to get professional feedback on their work. I hope you enjoy the interview and that it gives you some perspective on your work as you look toward finding an agent to represent you.

On the Lookout

I have always been a fan of research. I like to be prepared, find out the facts, make a plan, and crunch the numbers. It’s my practical side in the fabulously creative world of literary pursuit. That is why I am always impressed when authors send queries referencing my bio or specifying why they singled out our agency to contact. It lets me know that they took the time to compare my proclivities with their projects and found a match. When my client Allen Eskens (@aeskens) first started corresponding with our agency, he mentioned, “I am particularly interested in your agency because of its strong emphasis on mystery and thriller novels.”  Right on! Our agents have a wide range of interests that might be in line with your manuscript, and I am actively looking for more great matches. So…bring me your smart, compelling protagonist. Your sharp wit. Your vivid settings. I can’t wait to get lost in the world you create on the page. With readers like me, the research pays off.
